KRJZ Residence

PROJECT DETAILS

Construction of the KRJZ Residence should begin in the first quarter of 2011.  This 2,240 square foot home atop Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill was custom designed by pb Elemental Design www.pbelemental.com around the client’s needs.  The innovative layering of the floorplan puts the bedrooms on the ground floor level, while still providing a natural flow to the living areas located on the second floor where they take full advantage of the natural light and views provided by the generous abundance of glass.  Engineering for the KRJZ Residence was provided by LFD Structural Engineering LLC cfraser@structurallfd.com.  In addition to managing the construction process, Ashworth Homes is also providing preliminary cost estimating and Built Green certification management.

Other notable features of the KRJZ Residence include internal light shafts that bring natural light to the ground floor from skylights or windows on the upper floor.   A cedar-clad rooftop deck, finished concrete floors, solid surface countertops, multi-zoned in-floor radiant heat are a few of the other features built into this home.  Green features include a green roof, energy star appliance package, and drought tolerant plants that require no watering, among many other items.

As a Built Green Builder, Ashworth Homes will be constructing the KRJA Residence according to the Master Builders Association’s 4-star Built Green Certification Program www.builtgreen.net.  Toward this end, Evergreen State Energy LLC tadashi@evergreenstateenergy.comwill be verifying Ashworth Homes’ construction techniques and materials throughout the course of construction to insure adherence to the stringent Built Green requirements.

Our schedule currently suggests completion of this project toward the end of 2011.
